Lateness and Cancellations Policy

Cancellations to be made 48 hours prior to appointment at latest, please ensure you take all precautions not to miss your appointment.

Late Cancellations will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of your appointments cost, any cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of your appointments cost which will need to be paid before further appointments can be booked.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment you may be asked to reschedule and the cancellation fee will apply.

If you consistently miss appointments, refuse to pay the cancellation fee or arrive late on a number of occasions I may refuse to book in any future appointments and remove your details from my records.

Late Collection Policy

Please make sure you are on time to collect your dogs, I will give you an agreed time or we will agree that I will let you know 30 minutes before they are ready, there will be a leeway of 15 minutes past the agreed time. If you are more than 15 minutes late past the agreed time then a late fee of £5 extra for every 15 minutes that you are late will apply. This charge is in place as I am a one to one groomer and if you are late to pick up your dog it pushes my whole day back or I have to reschedule other clients booked in for that day.

De-matting Policy

At Wags to Riches I take pride in being a caring and humane groomer and will always put your dogs welfare above all else.

It is an owners duty of care towards their pet to maintain the coat between professional grooms. A lack of regular grooming and care can lead to matted fur that is uncomfortable and painful for your dog and may lead to many health conditions:

Eye and Ear infections
Flea infestation
Fungal and bacterial infections
Hot spots and sores
Mites and lice
Moist eczema
Severe itching
Skin rash
Urine and faeces scalding
Yeast infections
Hematomas

Small localised matts I may remove by gently brushing out but if this is not possible without causing your dog discomfort or pain they will be clipped out.

Severely matted dogs will be shaved off with a close blade for their care and wellbeing in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is kinder and quicker for the dog, many dogs are traumatised by unnecessary hours of de-matting, putting them off grooming for life.

De-matting is not included in the price of our grooms, If your dogs coat has to be clipped off there will be an additional charge of £10 to £20 depending on the severity of the matting, this cost contributes towards the extra time spent and the wear caused to my grooming tools.

Flea Policy

If I find fleas on your dog during the groom there will be an additional charge of £15 on top of the original groom price, this is to cover costs for fumigating and deep cleaning of the salon.

If you suspect your dog has fleas before their appointment please ring to reschedule as I have to cancel all dogs that are scheduled in after for that day.

Bitches In Season, Pregnant Dogs

I will not groom your dog if she is pregnant or in season.

Also any dog recently spayed or neutered I ask that you receive the all clear from the vets before I go ahead with their groom.

Aggressive Dogs

I would love to be able to help and groom all dogs but I do not take on aggressive dogs, as I work alone from my home it would not be safe for me to do so.

Dogs Who Have Difficulty Being Groomed

I strive to ensure that your dog has a relaxed and enjoyable time whilst in my care, I am always furthering my education and knowledge on how to give your dog the upmost care and different grooming techniques to help your dog have a stress free groom but unfortunately some dogs do find the grooming process or parts of it very stressful.

I will not perform any grooming procedure that will cause your dog excessive stress which may be detrimental to their mental wellbeing or that is putting them or myself in danger of being injured.

I will terminate the groom if your dog becomes too stressed to continue and costs will be owed for any work done to this point.

I may work with your dog to gain their trust and help get them over their fears but these will be in shorter sessions and come at an additional cost to be discussed.

For dogs that need a little more patience, care and extra time due to stress but are able to complete their groom will be charged an additional £15 on top of their original groom price.

Social Media Policy

I love sharing your pets and my grooms on my social media pages and website.

If you do not make me aware, I assume you are happy for me to do so.

I will never share your personal details nor use your pets photo for any other reason with out first making you aware.

Wags to Riches Disclaimer

By booking an appointment with Wags to Riches online you confirm that all facts supplied below are true.

You agree to pay any charges due for appointments cancelled without adequate notice.

You accept and consent entirely to all of the terms and conditions shown below.

You confirm that your pet is fit, healthy and fully vaccinated.

You agree that the groomer will not be held liable or responsible for irritation, abrasion, patchiness or hair loss due to any pre existing skin condition, or as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping or shaving, or any mishap caused by your non disclosure of your pets medical condition or behaviour.

If your pet bites or attempts to bite any person or pet, a muzzle may be used, or at the discretion of the groomer, treatment may stop and you will pay for any work done to that point and will pay the full cost of damages and expense your pet has caused.

If you fail to collect your pet at the agreed time you will pay all extra cost due.

If your pet harbours any parasites I will clear them at your expense.

If your pets health causes concern, I will obtain veterinary treatment for them at your expense.
